STATE GOVERNMENT INTENTS TO STRENGTHEN THE STATE INTELLIGENCE WING: CM CM ANNOUNCES INCREASE OF SPECIAL ALLOWANCE FOR THE STATE SPECIAL BRANCH PERSONNEL FROM 10 TO 25 PERCENT

Jaipur, 24 April. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has said that the special allowance of the State Special Branch personnel will be increased from 10 to 25 percent. He also announced that 9 new vehicles will be made available to the Branch.
Shri Gehlot was addressing on the occasion of foundation stone laying ceremony of Rajasthan Intelligence Training Academy building here at Rajasthan Police Academy premise on Wednesday. He laid the foundation stone for the Academy building amid chanting of mantras. In the first phase academic building and hostel costing Rs. 10.63 crores would be constructed by RSRDC.
The Chief Minister said to strengthen the State Intelligence Wing and make it more efficient is the first priority of the State Government and various steps have been taken regarding this. He said the collection of intelligence information has become more challenging amid the increasing threat to internal security due to naxalism, terrorism, communalism and cyber crimes.
Shri Gehlot said showing pro-activeness the State Government has taken many steps for police modernization, to boost up the morale of the police personnel and to strengthen the police forces. He said it is matter of proud for all of us that the second Police and Security University has been opened in Jodhpur. He said police commissionerate have been set up in Jaipur and Jodhpur city.
The Chief Minister said to control crime in the State work plan has been prepared. During the last four years 13 new ASP offices, 30 DSP offices, 120 police stations and 99 police chowkis have been opened. The budget for the police has increased from Rs. 1470 crores to Rs. 3041 crores during the last four years. Decision has been taken to recruit 30,000 policemen in the State. About 8 to 9 thousand policemen have been recruited while process is on for 10,000 policemen.
Mentioned the Student-Police Cadet scheme and proposal of appointing Gram Rakshak in 9177 Gram Panchayats and he said the recruitment will be completed within two months.
